Who are we?

Millennium 7 replicas was established in 2005. The brainchild of aeronautical engineer Chris Carstens, is an modernized replica of the classic Lotus 7 that was inspired by Lotus founder Colin Chapman’s original design. Alastair Gibson, former Honda F1 chief mechanic advised Chris on the design of the Millennium 7 to ensure cutting edge race technology is applied to all aspects of the project.

The standard offering will be a normally aspirated 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine with Ford Type 9 gearbox. A turbo option will also be available on request. With a four-cylinder Ford engine, the vehicle’s weight is estimated at 700kg (1543lbs).  Weight is kept low thanks to the space frame, aluminum skin panels, and fiberglass body.  Despite the low weight, the engineers were able to design a car with a bigger cockpit than the Lotus 7 for ease of access and comfort.

Specially designed progressive disc brakes with six-piston calipers in the front and four-piston calipers at the rear forms part of the revised design.  Also available is the unique windscreen, which is installed at a 55-degree rake.

A standard specification normally aspirated Millennium 7 will cost approximately R700,000 ZAR, or about €44,500 Euro / USD 52,500 US Dollar at the date of exchange.

Turbo conversions will be priced according to the individual clients requirements.
